Cafe Zingara versus Cafe Sbiza

CAFE ZINGARA VERSUS CAFE SBIZA

Cafe Zingara is by far a better choice for eating breakfast or lunch if you are on holidays in Kingscliff.

As mentioned in earlier posts, Cafe Sbiza has gone progressively downhill in the past year and seriously the food at Zingara is great.

The Mediterranean Spring rolls are to die for, and The Chicken Caesar Salad was one of the best I have eaten anywhere - and guess what - really great croutons, not like the rocks they serve at Sbiza.

So when in Kingy, do yourself a favour and head on down to Zingara and get great food and great value - i recommend it highly.

Cafe Sbiza Has Serious Competition

Cafe Sbiza in Kingscliff has serious competition up the road at Choux box. I used to love going to Cafe Sbiza in Kingscliff, but as you will have read in earlier posts, the cafe has been on a downhill slide as far as value and quality goes for over a year.

Up the road to the north is the far more classy and well priced Choux Box and on a recent trip to Kingscliff ,"Kingy" as the locals call it, I swung by Choux Box to see what all the hype as far away as Byron Bay was about.

I had a salad followed by the best dessert pie I have ever eaten and as I sat there dreamily devouring dessert, I looked down the road to my old haunt, Cafe Sbiza and wondered what had happened.

I guess chefs are only human and possibly the Cafe Sbiza crew have been doing it too long or need agood holiday to recharge their batteries. Anyway back to the pie. the overall effect of the Banana Cream Pie was sensational, and I didn't accompany it with cream, ice cream or anything else. It was to die for on its own.

So Cafe Sbiza had better pull up the old socks I reckon. Cafe Sbiza have some serious competition in the cafes in Kingscliff consumer stakes.

Cafe Sbiza Review

 Cafe Sbiza Review

Cafe Sbiza is located in Marine Parade opposite the main entrance to Kingscliff's caravan park and  has been in operation for many years. Cafe Sbiza used to be a fairly good choice for all day dining in Kingscliff, but has gone downhill in recent years and become one of the mediocre food destinations at the seaside town of Kingscliff.

I recently went back to Cafe Sbiza to give it another chance and although the coffee was OK, the overall food experience was dismal. Not sure what they are doing in the kitchen, but the lightly toasted bread was "over toasted" , soft poached eggs were hard and the rest of the breakfast was cold - well lukewarm.

Boo-Hoo used to be good at Cafe Sbiza.
